The call that never books
A prospective client wants two things before they commit: are you in their network, and what will a session cost. When the answer is "call us", many never do.
The checker on this page is live. It runs on built-in sample data for a fictional practice, Riverbend Counseling, so nothing you type here reaches a health plan.
"Do you take my insurance?" arrives before anyone has booked, and the honest answer takes a payer portal, a hold queue and ten minutes nobody has.
A prospective client wants two things before they commit: are you in their network, and what will a session cost. When the answer is "call us", many never do.
A first session booked without a clear cost often does not happen. The client is not unreliable; they are unsure, and uncertainty is what they cancel.
Someone on your team verifies benefits one portal and one hold queue at a time, for inquiries that may never turn into clients.
Paste one script tag into Squarespace, Wix, WordPress or any site, add your NPI and the payers you are credentialed with, and the checker is live.

They enter the details from their insurance card and read a plain-English answer: in network or not, the likely copay, and the next step to take.
Each check lands in your portal with the client's contact details and their answer, so the next inquiry already knows what they will pay.
Every result names the clinician, the plan and the time of the plan's response, and says what could not be confirmed as a sentence of its own.
Good news: Dana Alvarez, LPC is in-network with your Aetna Choice POS II plan, and based on Aetna's response at 9:41 AM today you'll likely pay a $30 copay per therapy session, with no deductible to meet first.
This is an estimate based on your plan's response, not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Your plan makes the final decision, and the practice confirms exact costs before your first session.
Checked by Covered for Therapy
Dana Alvarez, LPC is not in-network with your Aetna Choice POS II plan, based on Aetna's response at 9:41 AM today. Your plan may still pay part of the cost out of network; ask Aetna for your out-of-network benefit for CPT 90837, or pick an in-network clinician at this practice.

Checked by Covered for Therapy
Dana Alvarez, LPC is in-network with your Aetna Choice POS II plan, but based on Aetna's response at 9:41 AM today you still have $750 of your $2,000 deductible (what you pay before your plan starts paying) to meet, so early sessions may cost the full contracted rate. Call Aetna to confirm the rate for CPT 90837 with this provider; it usually takes about five minutes.

We could confirm your plan is active, but Aetna did not tell us your mental health copay at 9:41 AM today. Call the number on the back of your card, ask for "outpatient behavioral health cost share" and the copay for CPT 90837 with this provider; it usually takes about five minutes.

One clinician, one NPI, your website and your directory profile.
Right clinician, right plan, right state.
From the first check we act as your business associate. Eligibility is a payment function, so no client authorisation is needed, and we collect only what the inquiry requires.
You accept our business associate agreement before an API key exists. It covers breach notice, subcontractors and what happens to your data when you leave.
No pixels, analytics scripts or session replay in the widget, the hosted checker or any page where a client types insurance details. Nothing is written to cookies, local storage or the address bar.
Your checks, your leads, your payer list. Export them any time, delete them from the portal, and we erase everything 30 days after you cancel.

No. Every answer is an estimate built from the health plan's electronic eligibility response and your own payer list. The plan makes the final decision when it processes the claim, and plans sometimes return incomplete or outdated information.
That is why every result says what was checked, when, and what could not be confirmed, and carries the same disclaimer in the same type size as the answer. Think of it as the best version of what your front desk would say on the phone, not a promise of payment.
The client enters their carrier, member ID, date of birth, state and the type of care, and ticks a consent box with the exact sentence they are agreeing to.
The member ID and date of birth are used for the eligibility inquiry and then dropped. We keep the last four characters of the member ID and the birth year, never the full values, and nothing is written to the browser, a cookie or the address bar. The result summary, the client's contact details and the consent record are kept for you in the portal.
Yes, on every plan. You accept our business associate agreement during signup, before an API key is issued. Enterprise plans include a countersigned agreement and custom terms.
The inquiry goes through a healthcare clearinghouse to the client's plan as a standard electronic eligibility request. Most commercial carriers, Medicare and many Medicaid plans answer electronically. When a plan does not answer, or leaves the mental health copay blank, the checker says so instead of guessing.
Network status never comes from the plan. It comes from the payer list you maintain in your portal, so the checker only ever says you are in network with a plan you have told us about.
The widget is one script tag, so it works on Squarespace, Wix, WordPress and any site that lets you add a block of code. If you cannot edit your site, share the hosted link instead.
It sits alongside your EHR rather than replacing it. The checker answers the question before intake; your EHR keeps running the checks it runs after.
You can cancel any month from the portal. The widget stops answering immediately, your data stays available to export for 30 days, and after that we delete it. Records the law requires us to keep, such as the agreement itself, are kept for the period it requires and nothing more.
Setup is your NPI, your payers and one line of code.
